Lex-Ham Community Theater’s courses in a variety of topics within the field of Theatre Arts are aimed to strengthen theatrical knowledge and experiences of any beginner interested in learning. Frequently, students in our courses are people who have been involved in a Lex-Ham or other community theatre production and want to know more about a specific theatrical issue, such as acting, auditioning, dramatic literature, musical theatre, improvisation, or Shakespeare. Yet, other students are people who have loved theatre all their lives and now desire a deeper connection to the art, in order to further their experiences. Our teachers are theatre professionals who have experience in teaching and enjoy bringing their passions for the art to beginners in the field.
Having taken our courses, we hope that students will later choose to volunteer with community or small professional theatres, such as Lex-Ham or any theatre group. Although such involvement is not a requirement for our courses, we do hope that through this training, students will either avail themselves of more coursework and/or find more confidence to audition or apply for a technical position with a local theatre group.
Information about our upcoming classes is available through Saint Paul Community Education.
