I've played the trombone or sung since I was in fifth grade and music remains and important part of my life. Being in a band gives me incentive both to practice and push myself to practice more difficult music than I might choose on my own. With opportunities to participate in community dwindling, it is refreshing to play once a week with the Lex-Ham Band. We meet and rehearse in community and then go out into other's communities to play for them. The age and experience level of the group varies widely, and that proves to be one of our strengths. Rehearsals and concerts are definite high points of the week for me. As the band completes its 25th season, I look forward to the next 25 years.
